In the name of God Amen

I Nicholas Sturt of Horsham the younger in the county of Sussex yeoman

beinge weake in body but of perfect memory I praise God therefore doe make

and ordeine my last will and Testament in manner and forme

followinge


First and principally I committ and commend my soule into the

mercifull hands of Almighty God my Creator and Redeemer and my body to the

Earth to expect the ioyfull resurrection And as touching my wordly goods I give

and bequeath the same as followeth


I make my loveing and weldeserveinge

wife full and whole Executrix of this my will And I give unto her all my goods

Cattells Chattels and householdstuffe for her use, and to raise portions for my

Children acccordinge as shee shall thinke fitt and their love and duty shall

deserve And I desire her to bringe them upp in the knowledge and feare of God

and then I doubt not but the Lord will bee to them a better portion


And as touchinge

and concerninge my Messuages barnes landes and hereditaments with their

appurtenances I give and bequeath them to my lovinge Brothers in lawe Thomas

Smyth and Thomas Michell of Horsham and their heires

of my debts and for the good of my wife my father and my children And what

one thousand six hundred and Fifty six before the Judges for probat of wills and grantinge

Administrac[i]ons lawfully authorised by the oath of Sarah Sturt the relict and sole Executrix

named in the said will To whom Administrac[i]on of all and singuler the goods Chattells

and debts of the said deceased shee beinge first legally sworne by vertue of a Comission

well and truly to admininster the same./
